Real-Time Electricity Readings
NorthQ has developed a solution for the metering and visualization of electricity consumption in commercial establishments.
The solution consists of four parts: a sensor, a wireless transmitter, a Z-Wave gateway and software for visualization of the company’s electricity consumption.
The sensor, which records power consumption, is easily installed on mechanical and electronic meters. The consumption data is sent to a server every ten seconds and can then be further distributed to portals like Google PowerMeter, or http://www.eualarm.tv for example, where data can be visualized and analyzed. The IT manager (or person responsible for monitoring electricity consumption) can therefore gain an overview of how much electricity is being used, and when, in order to facilitate the reduction of unnecessary power consumption.
