Following the production of the first “Best Companies To Work For” list published in Fortune magazine by Milton Moskowitz and Robert Levering, Jerome Dodson created the Parnassus Workplace Fund in 2005, a mutual fund that invests exclusively in large American firms proven to have outstanding workplaces.
Since its inception in April 2005 to January 2013, the fund outperformed S&P with a 9.63% annualized return against 5.58% by S&P.
