The New Corporate Garage
Excellent article by Scott Anthony on the evolution of innovation. He divides innovation in four periods:
- First era – That of the lone inventor;
- Second era – Driven by corporate labs;
- Third era – VC-backed start-ups;
- Fourth era – Catalysts within big companies.
He analyzes this latest period by giving real world examples of ideas that turn into worldwide products or services provided by global companies, like Medtronic, Unilever, Syngenta and IBM.
It’s worth to read and choose if your next big idea should be backed up by venture capitalists or global corporations.
